Young Married Couples

Couples married ten years or less, though all couples are welcome to participate. This is 'couple time'. Childcare is provided.

What

Young Married Couples (YMC) was created to strengthen faithful bonds outside of the church walls for couples. The group sponsors events; each begins with a devotion or word of prayer, and then includes a small service project and a social gathering. The events are designed to encourage interaction, friendship and sharing of support during the many aspects of a young marriage.

Past events have included bowling, BBQs, board game tournaments, attending the movies, comedy improve club.

This group has organized the church's children's library, and donated items to local charities. There are approximately fifty couples on the YMC guest list — an average of twenty couples attend each event. Because of hectic schedules, the mix of couples is different every time, which adds to the fun.

Thanks to the LHUMC youth, childcare is offered for each YMC event. This care is available at the church and is supported by adult sponsors. If you'd like to meet other couples who are experiencing similar life situations, join us for the next event!

When & Where

The group meets four to six times each year. See the Calendar section for the next event.

Commitment

Occasional evening several times each year. Expenses include tickets or small donations.
