Got ten minutes? Do an energy audit and do yourself, your community, and the world a favor.Join the LHUMC Team in the Minnesota Energy Challenge.
The Challenge will take you less than 10 minutes to complete
When you sign up, be sure to enter under the Lake Harriet United Methodist Church Team and our collective savings will be tallied. The Trustees Jumped In!
The Trustees are especially interested in good environmental practices in our maintenance of the Church and use of the building and grounds. For example, we have changed or will change all light bulbs possible to compact florescent bulbs.Over the last few years we've made improvements to the HVAC system so it is as efficient as possible. There is much more "greening" we strive to do.
By 2025, Minnesotans are expected to consume 35% more energy than we do today. There are many easy things each of us can do to reduce our energy use, reduce Co2 emissions and save money.
Launch www.mnenergychallenge.org and take the Minnesota Energy Challenge yourself. The Web site suggests actions you can take to easily reduce your energy consumption and Co2 emissions. It will tally for you the pounds of Co2 avoided and the dollars saved by your pledged actions.
If you know someone who would like to take the Minnesota Energy Challenge but does not have access to the internet, tell him or her to pick up a form from an envelope on the big green "SOMETHING GOOD IS GOING ON AROUND HERE" bulletin board. Return it to the church office, and Kristi Anderson will complete the challenge for for them online.
