Spend 3 weeks with Pastor Karen exploring the Scriptures that will be sermon topics. Every day brings a new headline\, a new crisis\, a new reason to feel unsteady. It’s enough to make anyone wonder where solid ground even is anymore. The prophet Jeremiah knew this feeling. He prophesied through political upheaval\, national division\, and institutional collapse. And in the middle of all of it\, he found something that didn’t move. This series is about finding that anchor for ourselves.

SUMMARY:BE STILL: EXPLORING CONTEMPLATIVE PRACTICES
DESCRIPTION:Looking for a little more quiet\, depth\, or connection with God?\nThis year\, Lake Harriet invites you to slow down\, pay attention\, and explore some of the rich practices Christians have used for centuries to deepen their spiritual lives. \nIn partnership with Saint Catherine University\, we are offering Contemplative Practices\, a nine-session series exploring different ways of connecting with God—individually and in community. Together we’ll learn about and experience practices including centering prayer\, Lectio Divina\, the Labyrinth\, and more. \nCome when you can. Each session stands on its own\, so you are welcome to drop in for individual sessions—or join us for all nine and experience the full journey. \nSCHEDULE\nSessions are held at Lake Harriet UMC from 6:30–8:00 p.m.\nSeptember 24\, October 22\, November 19\, December 3 (1st Thursday due to the holiday) January 28\, February 25\, March 25 (Maundy Thursday)\, April 22\, May 27. \nChild care for infants through age 5 is available. Please let us know when you register if you will need child care. \nNo experience with contemplative prayer is necessary. Just come as you are—and make a little space for God. \nMEET OUR LEADER\nAmy Campbell\, a certified Spiritual Director\, will lead our sessions. Amy has a lifelong interest in spiritual formation and has served in ministry at the Church of St. Patrick of Edina and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Community. She currently serves as a Spiritual Director at The Loyola Center for Spirituality in St. Paul and completed her spiritual direction training through Christos. \nAmy’s own contemplative life has been shaped by practices including centering prayer and T’ai Chi Chih.
