Backpack Drive for Emerson Village

The Lake Harriet Outreach and Beacon Leadership Teams are sponsoring a backpack drive for the youth and children of families living at Beacon’s Emerson Village. We have pledged to provide 70 backpacks, with 20 for more high school/middle school aged students and 50 for elementary school students.

Watch for the display in the gathering space. Just take a tag (or a few tags), purchase the type of backpack indicated, and then return the backpacks by August 16th.

Also, Lake Harriet UMC is providing volunteers to serve food or help with crafts at the Emerson Village Back-to-School event on Thur. Aug. 27th from 1- 4pm, Lake Harriet volunteers needed from 12 to 5pm, and may be working in two shifts.
